Maybe stupid thing to mention buy I start by saying that I’m pretty exited about new material. If that weren’t the case we probably shouldn’t be in the studio first place
I have no idea how many songs we have made to this album but as usual we needed to drop many of them away because they weren’t fitting in the big picture and we had way too many where to choose from. I don’t think that we are going to record those songs in the studio ever because me and Johnny are a bit too full of new ideas and we could probably release 5 albums in a year (if I just could make lyrics and vocals a bit faster ), but maybe we release some demo's of those songs here in forum some day.
Anyway, last week and weekend were kind of chaotic because lot of work had to be done but I must say somehow it was really refreshing and fun at the same time and we did get change to go all songs thru and actually make some of them work way better. We didn’t want to make everything “that” ready in the early stage what we did with Unreal to keep things fresh and interesting and it seems to work pretty well.
Drums day 1
too happy village people
After finishing up structure of final song today morning we finally entered to studio with Johnny around 11:00. Lede and Mika were already there setting up drums and after few hours of tuning and the usual stuff, we did get on our way to record drums for 4 songs already today, so it was kind of a perfect start to our recordings.
Keijonen and his miniature drums
I don’t want to go to details about songs yet but imagine metalheads in Amélie Poulain’s world and you will get the picture. Laters…
Another great day behind, all the drums tracks are done. Mika was actually little bit too fast recording his parts and I did got change to leave home a bit earlier than expected to finish up some lyrics and stuff.
Tomorrow we start to record guitars and I can't wait to hear the songs after there is little flesh over the bones
Anyway, we had a blast with Hiili and Juha from Hip studio's and we continue recording this killer album tomorrow...
Zorro has left the building

Another great day and again it went smoother than expected without wanting to repeat my self After I went to the studio about 11:00 (wet as hell, was raining at the time) guitar setup was ready to go and we started recording "heavy/big" parts to our album, actually I think we got all of those done today and tomorrow we record clean sounds and maybe something more extreme Jani played extremely well and we didn't have any problems so what more could you wish for...
Violin from hell
Ambulance and some police cars were other side of the street where we our studio is. Car crash or something, but I think no one did get hurt what is alway nice so it didn't bother us that much. Or maybe they were looking for Zorro, who knows
Hiili had few interesting guitar pedals and while we tested one, Russian radio station started to play on guitar speaker, well I guess protection of electric equipment was slightly different at the old times
No more sugar for Jon Bon Johnny
Hieroglyphs by Hiili The Tutankhamon
Pirate of Funland
Few new pics added to gallery.

All fuzz guitars seems to be done. We also tried to record trumpet today, although it was funny as hell, I think that the damn thing was broken, it sounded terrible
Tomorrow time to some clean guitars & other weird stuff what we comes to our mind

Another fine day over & all bass guitars are now recorded and I must say that songs are sounding pretty cool. I don't think that I have hear anything so big ever (in a good sense) or maybe I am just little bit too exited when everything finally comes at life.

Thursday we move our asses to Hämeenlinna where we are going to do most of our keys, before that I think we do some editing and record more weird stuff what comes to our mind.
What comes to my part, I still have way too much to do but let's not talk about that yet because I have couple weeks to finish things up.

Day 9 with the recording sessions and it was my time to do the first visit to Hämeenlinna with Jam master Jay.
Burden started at 9am from Kamppi where our beloved "Spinefarm guru" hooked us up with nice ride to Hämeenlinna and we met Hiili there near some goddamn field that was filled with sand.. dont ask why.. Anyway, after a nice coffeebreak we stacked my gear to Hiili's "office" and started to wonder the synths to a song called "Hooker" ..
As Jami and I started to fall into slumber due the lack of sleep on the past few days (as always) the day passed by pretty quickly and it was my time to go back to helsinki with the nice air conditioned train as the power-duo stayed in Hämeenlinna..
As said, the synth-recordings will continue next monday thruout the whole week and we'll see what monsters we will create..
Blue Monday came and it was time to fly with pink unicorn to Hämeenlinna and begin the greasy synth recordings 4 real..
Once the lovely steaks were buried into our ernoumous stomaches we headed to Hiili's office where first song called Lauttasaari = Ferry island took some new shape with slighty gayish key-arrangements and with mister Sherman whose contribution to the song was just mind blowing!
Second song of the day was Limu disko = Mountain Dew Disco which seemed to require some more intimate touch and as the day passed with shitty airconditioning and after 24 el toro junior burgers we were ready to call the day day off and head to our nice condo to smell the fumes of dead rats..
Now I need more mountain dew and I'll head to the complex and cruel downtown of Hämeenlinna to get fix for my shivers..
This is your Commander Jon Bon Johnny speaking.. Thursday night and checking in from Hämeenlinna.
The fifth day of key-sessions today and things are going real big! The most sick and unimaginable stuff has been laid to tracks over the passed few days and the mood has been just great throughout the process here.
Last night we spent some quality time in the bars of Hämeenlinna and today I entertained Jami and Hiili with the uttermost hangover and before some nice hamburgers (once again!) were eaten nothing really "special" happened in studio and as the sun started to set we managed to conquer some king-ideas to couple songs and it was time wrap it up and head to the nearest kebab-palace..
Tomorrow we shall do some checking and filling and after that I'll pass the torch to Jammer.
Not so hangovered Johnny at work with whale-tunes...
